Tips for getting the most out of your dry bags

Tips for getting the most out of your dry bags

The dry bag is the humble hero of any trip. Dry bags are made to keep your gear dry! But there are loads of other uses which your dry bag is perfect for. Read on for some of our suggestions.

A Pillow

While a comfy, lightweight pillow is the best option for a great night's sleep outdoors, if you loose or forget your pillow a drybag can be the perfect alternative.

Fill you drybag with some t-shirts close the roll top and voila you have a pillow. Now this won't be as comfy as an Aeros Down Pillow, but it will do for a night or two!

Light up your camp

Dry bag + head torch = makeshift lantern.

Add more light to your tent or around your camp by putting your head torch in your drybag. This works best, with our thin but strong Ultra-Sil® Nano Dry Bags.

Dry Bags

Carrying water

While a folding bucket is a great addition to your camp set up - you can use a dry bag to carry water to your camp.

Dry bags are waterproof to keep the water in and strong to deal with the weight of water, so make a perfect water carrier for around camp.

Portable washing machine

Your dry bag can act as a washing machine. Fill 30% of your bag with water, clothes and soap (our Wilderness Wash is perfect for this). Saturate your clothes to remove air from the bag and roll its top four or five times then clip it.

Rub the clothes inside the bag for a few minutes to remove stains on them.

Next, empty the content of your bag to remove the soapy water. Fill it with the clothes and add clean water for rinsing. Shake the bag for a few minutes to clean out your clothes. Repeat the process until the rinsing water becomes soap-free.
