Milarrochy Bay Camping and Caravanning Club Site
Bay, Milarrochy, Balmaha, Drymen, Glasgow G63 0AL

This popular tourist spot and Camping and Caravanning Club Site is located in Drymen, a village in Stirling. Open during the warmer, peak months from the start of April to the end of October, Milarrochy Bay campsite is ideal for caravanners and those wanting a home away from home, as you can bring your caravan and explore the site from your mobile home.

Walkers are in luck at Milarrochy Bay campsite, as there are a number of treks near to the site, all of which vary in length and difficulty - for all levels of competency. Starting at Loch Lomond Shores Visitor Centre, campers can take part in guided hikes, hire bikes to go cycling and participate in guided canoe trips as well as many other pursuits. Beinglas Farm Campsite

Wild Camping in Loch Lomond
If you’re simply looking to be at one with nature, then Loch Lomond does allow wild camping.
Visitors can wild camp on Loch Lomond and it’s perfect for thrill-seekers looking to explore the idyllic landscape. Wild campers don’t need a permit to camp at Loch Lomond and can pitch up anywhere from October to February. However, there are some camping bylaws visitors need to be mindful of.
In the past five years, seasonal by-laws around wild camping have been exerted from March to September in a bid to reduce a negative impact on the environment and conserve the landscape. This only applies to less than 5% of the national park though and often you can still camp if you have a permit.
Outside of these zones, there are no permits needed but campers are advised to leave no trace, be conscious of the environment and wildlife and avoid buildings, roads and natural structures.
As wildfires can be an extreme hazard, it’s recommended that wild campers should use a camping stove when cooking or boiling water. When using nature’s toilet, campers should stay at least 100ft away from water points and waste should be buried 15cm under the ground and tissue should be disposed of appropriately, in the closest waste bin.
