Building on the design advances made in our award-winning ultralight Telos Tension Ridge tents, Sea to Summit introduces the Ikos Evo TR2 Tent, which offers the same great liveability and versatile setup options for everyday backpacking and vehicle-supported camping. The Ikos features typical Sea to Summit material quality and attention to detail.
Four inner pockets and the included gear loft provide plenty of storage space, while machined-aluminium pole feet/rainfly C-clips make pitching easy. A DAC MX poleset supports a 68D PeU polyester ripstop rainfly that is flame retardant-free and treated with a C0 non-PFC DWR.
The rectangular floor (large enough for two regular rectangular sleeping mats) is a 68D PeU polyester with a 4,000mm hydrostatic head with additional protection and durability is provided by the included footprint; a footprint which extends to the tips of the vestibules is available. Spread out in this amazingly spacious home away from home.
Technical Features
The poles of the Tension Ridge are swept upwards like the dihedral wing of an airplane – not angled downwards as is common in tents. This raises the tent’s shape, providing significantly more head and shoulder room, higher doors, easier access and more usable vestibule space.
The gold standard in tent poles — our tents combine DAC Featherlite NFL, NSL and PRESSFIT sections.
Ultra-Dry Down is a non-PFC treatment hydrophobic treatment applied to the down during down processing. It is not a coating (which would reduce the ability of the down to loft), it comprises of very small particles of a polymer that cause the down clusters / feathers to repel water. Hydrophobic down is not waterproof; but it absorbs less water than untreated down and dries much more quickly.
Ultra-Dry Down does not affect the loft or lifespan of the down, or its breathability. The treatment will last through at least 20 washings.
