Description
The Cinder is a lightweight, super-packable quilt protected by a waterproof yet breathable shell. A drawcord pulls the foot end together into a foot box for cooler nights, and three adjustable straps keep the quilt secured to your sleeping mat.
Quilts are perfect for weight-conscious backpackers. The lack of a zipper and hood reduces weight and packed volume, and the broad cut provides freedom of movement. Sea to Summit quilts feature the QuiltLock system which allows quilts to connect to a Sea to Summit sleeping bag adding an extra season of warmth.

TECHNICAL FEATURES
Nano Shell™ is a 20 Denier Nylon fabric with a water-shedding DWR finish on the exterior and a microporous PU coating on the interior. This highly breathable, highly water-resistant, windproof shell fabric is used on the Sea to Summit Alpine sleeping bags and Cinder quilts where it protects the down from external moisture even during very wet conditions.
100% of the down used in our sleeping bags and quilts is independently certified to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). The RDS certifies down against animal welfare requirements and tracks it from the source to the final product. The purchase of RDS certified products demonstrates demand for better animal welfare practices in the down and feather supply chain. Sea to Summit is certified to the RDS. To learn more about RDS visit
The second highest-lofting down used in any of Sea to Summit’s sleeping bags or quilts. 750+ Fill Power indicates that one ounce (30g) of down will re-expand to over 750 cubic inches after compression. Higher loft means that less down can be used to achieve the same temperature rating – important for performance sleeping bags. The loft and down quality/composition are independently tested by the International Down and Feather Laboratory (IDFL) – a copy of the certification is supplied with every Sea to Summit sleeping bag. The down is responsibly sourced and RDS certified and treated with our non-PFC Ultra-Dry Down™ treatment.
The QuiltLock system uses the snap locks located at the shoulder and foot end of Sea to Summit sleeping bags plus the quilt footbox / quilt straps to secure a quilt to the sleeping bag. This adds thermal performance and versatility to your sleep system: your integrated quilt now works for ultralight summer adventures and turns your three-season bag into a four-season sleep system.
Frequently Asked questions
Suitable for backpackers?
Possibly. Light weight, small packed volume and room to move are great plus points; some sleepers miss having a hood and occasionally experience drafts at the perimeter of the quilt.
EN Rated / suitable for colder weather?
No. The EN test does not apply to quilts (from any brand). The ‘lowest comfort temperature’ is based on comparable Sea to Summit sleeping bags – the Cinder is really a summer quilt.
Able to be coupled with another Sea to Summit Quilt?
Yes. Press-studs along the edge (usually used for the mat attachment straps) can be used to join any two Sea to Summit quilts together.
